How to use the Nutrition Tab in Gurucose?
The Nutrition tab helps you see how food affects your sugar. Track meals, spot spikes, compare before-and-after glucose, and learn which foods work best for your body. Smarter food choices start with real insights—right here in Gurucose.
Understanding how food affects your sugar levels can feel confusing. That’s why we built the Nutrition tab to make it easier for you to see what you’re eating, how it’s impacting your glucose, and what you can do about it.
Here’s how to make the most of it:
Add food items individually
You can enter each item on your plate one at a time - like dal khichdi and press Search. This will open up a list of food items related to Dal Khichdi. This gives you more accurate nutritional details for every component of your meal. It’s perfect for when you want full control and precision.

Add full meals together using AI
If you’re in a rush, just type your whole meal - like “1 plate dal khichdi with raita” - and we’ll use AI to estimate the nutrition for you. We use OpenAI to estimate the Nutritional Value of the food. This way, you get speed without losing the benefits of tracking. You can enter any food and click “Analyse Food” to see its nutrients.

See your daily nutrition trends
We calculate your average daily carbs, protein, and calories over the last 3, 7, and 30 days. This helps you understand if your diet is balanced over time and not just meal by meal.

Track before and after sugar for every meal
After you log a meal, we show how your sugar levels changed before and after breakfast, lunch and dinner. This helps you spot which food times are causing most spikes.

Discover your best and worst managed foods
For CGM users, we highlight the foods you’ve managed the best, where sugar stayed steady, and the ones that led to big spikes. This gives you a personal list of what works and what doesn’t.

See how high your sugar went, and how fast
For each food in your best and worst list, you can also see the peak sugar value after the meal and how much your sugar rose in the next 2 hours of your meal. These small details make a big difference in understanding how your body reacts.
View your full food history
You can scroll through every meal you’ve logged in one place. It’s like having a complete food diary that connects directly to your sugar data.

Search any food and see your sugar response
Want to know how you reacted to mango or paratha last time? Just search for it, and we’ll show your peak sugar level from your past entries. This helps you make better choices next time.
